We Are
Jennifer Shelton graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2003 with her Bachelors. She currently is the Education Director at Real Options for Women, a pregnancy resource center in Plano, TX. Jennifer has had the privilege to share the benefits of abstinence to over 100,000 teenagers and parents across the US and Europe through the 180 Degrees Program.
Jennifer not only is a seasoned speaker but the author of the 180 Degrees abstinence curriculums which has customized presentations for all age groups. She specializes in speaking to senior high students, college and singles groups, as well as parent seminars.
Jennifer speaks from experience and compassion, born to a single young mother and adopted by a loving family; she understands the consequences of the sexual climate the students now face. Her heart is to see teenagers and adults catch the vision of purity and ultimately see lives changed.
Rich Shelton graduated from Lee University with his Bachelors in 1997. He has worked in various professions from Juvenile Corrections to Sales and now in his most fitting and exciting career as an Abstinence Educator. Rich has always had a passion to see young people succeed. He has fulfilled this passion through avenues such as children’s church pastor, middle school pastor and a student sponsor.
Rich has spoken to hundreds of students across the Dallas metroplex and faces each challenging audience with enthusiasm and creativity. With his 6ft 5in frame, funny voices and facial expressions, the students stay engaged as they laugh and learn at the same time. He challenges the girls to date only “gentlemen” and the boys to be a “man” in their responsibilities and behavior.
Rich was raised in a traditional home, as a pastor’s son, and was taught to stay abstinent until marriage. He understands the culture today and the temptations that are out there. Rich knows what it’s like to fail and begin again knowing that we all have the power to make right choices no matter what has happened in our past.
In addition, the 180 Degrees Program is unique in that Rich and Jennifer are a newly married couple who can attest to the benefits of an abstinent relationship. Many young people have given up on the idea of ever having a fulfilling marriage but the Sheltons are able to offer hope through their own lives and testimonies. This is a vibrant couple that can accurately and authentically present the significance of purity to both girls and boys.
